Meet Travis & Josie

Travis has been part of the Decorah Bicycles family since he was 16, eventually taking over the business.

Travis is a self-proclaimed “mechanical perfectionist” and he takes his work very seriously. He has over 20 years of turning wrenches under his belt and can handle just about anything that ends up on the workstand.

For Travis, owning the business does not mean he has a job where he’s sitting in an office pushing pens and studying numbers; no way. You'll find him behind the workstand and out on the floor working with our customers and rider friends all the time. Customer relationships are important to Travis, so when you call, or you stop in, you'll be able to talk to the "head guy" just as you would anyone else at the shop.

Josie has been part of the Decorah Bicycles family since 2015. You may recognize her from working at Oneota Community Food Co-Op for almost 7 years. The move to Decorah Bicycles to work with Travis was a natural step that just made sense.

She bought her first bicycle from Decorah Bicycles in 2012 and from there started commuting to work and biking for fitness. In 2014, thanks to Travis’ help, she started mountain biking.

Josie created a stand-alone website, Josie's Bike Life, with hopes of inspiring women to experience the joy, healing, and liberation bicycles could offer. She also actively shared her cycling adventures on Imagine Northeast Iowa. In 2015 she started Decorah's first women's mountain biking  group: Fearless Women of Dirt.
