Description

CycleOps’ JetFluid Pro Trainer is your secret weapon. Use it whenever time or weather constraints arise so you can stamp your authority on the hills, races or group rides next time the sun shines. The Pro features progressive resistance, where just like the real world, resistance builds the faster the wheel spins. Charging through 600-watt intervals or spinning easily in the little ring requires no adjustment; the power curve automatically changes to give you a silky-smooth workout. Plus, the Fluid is whisper quiet and the frame is tough, sturdy and stable so you can ride as hard as you want.

I've used Cycle-ops trainers for more than 12yrs

Pros:
2 min and I was up and riding, Easy To Use, Easy To Set Up, Improves Strength, Increases Endurance
Cons:
No cons, this is the right product for my needs
Best Uses:
Strength Training, Winter training, when I can get out on the road, Speed Training
This product is incredible, I wanted a machine I could push and not worry about braking or falling off on all out efforts. When doing Standing Power Stomps or Muscle Tension workouts I have no worries, I have a goal to hit 1850 peak watts and I feel that I can do this on the Cycle-ops Jet Pro trainer without spinning or bottoming out, this was the biggest plus on buying this machine. Virtual trainers definitely have their plus but for a tough durable, high quality product for intense training this is the tool.

Highly recommended

Pros:
Stable, Durable, Adjustable, Easy to Install and Use
Cons:
Best Uses:

Great trainer, relatively quiet. Easy to set up. I regularly forget to take the tension off the back wheel when I'm done which has caused an indentation in the tire. It led to a loud thump but I replaced the tire and it's all good. Just a tip.

Very very Nice!

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
My first trainer so not much to gauge it to, but I see no need for any other. Stable, good resistance. This winter will is going to be awesome. One thing though after I slapped on a CycleOps training tire (Yellow) it kicked it up a notch. Much better than my regular road tire, it became smoother and most important much quieter! My Wilier does not like being restrained...she'll just have to get use to it :)

Good, not great...

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I like 3 things--Resistance unit is very smooth, unit provides more resistance than previous mag trainer and frame has adjuster to keep it from wobbling on uneven floor. What I don't like--(In greater detail) 1) There is very little resistance to 15mph. I get it that the resistance curve is different than a mag trainer, but I don't find this realistic road feel at all. 2) When you spin it up, the resistance comes on quick and hard. Again, I know it is different than a mag trainer*. 3) The fixed and adjustable arms that hold the bike's QR are spindly, compared to many other trainers (Blackburn, Kinetic). My rear tire moves all over the roller as these under-supported arms flex within the main, black framework. I won't brag about how smooth I pedal, but this was NOT any issue on previous trainer. Climbing or sprint workouts, as listed under "best uses" below, would seem like a disaster waiting to happen. *My workouts with my old mag trainer (BBurn Tech Mag 6) were done in the big ring and I shifted all over the rear cogs to tailor the resistance to what I needed. With the JFPro, I am using only a 3-4 cog range in the back. Lower gears are spinning away at no resistance. Higher gears offer impossibly high resistance. I WISH this JFPro had a less abrupt upturn in it's resistance curve--shallower, less aggressive. My big gripe with my previous BBurn trainer was that it did not offer quite enough max resistance, so I bought the JFPro. I DID get (much) greater max resistance and the unit IS smooth, but feel I went backwards in bike-to-trainer stability and workout variety. I am keeping it for now, but also on the lookout for something more to my liking. On a side note, I found that the mounting tabs for the resistance unit were the same on this JFPro and a Kinetic Cyclone trainer I had around. If I could have easily mounted the fluid unit on the Kinetic frame, which is BRILLIANT and ROCK SOLID, I would have had a fantastic trainer. The screwball, idiot-proof, torque limiter adjuster on the JFPro resistance unit was what kept me from completing this project. It's not a bad trainer, but it isn't the one I was hoping for, either. Cycleops--If you have any ideas for me, please contact me.

Trainer feels much more like the road than I expected - very smooth ride!! Also my kit was missing the quick release skewer (can ride without it if need be)- I called the number on the instructions and they sent me a new one without issues!

Amazing versatiluty

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought this trainer a couple years ago after having a Mag trainer for the last 10 years! I couldn't believe how much quieter it is and how smooth the drum is. Why did I wait so long? Now it is so much easier to use virtual trainer or even watch a DVD because I dont have to blast the audio at max. And the power curve is so much better that I am able to tailor my intervals a lot better. This winter will be much better than previous ones for those reasons for sure! Only thing I have trouble with is dialing in the tension on the rear wheel, they could have made it easier to fine tune so I dont get so much slip or tire wear.

Solid, Quality trainer

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I've had this trainer for a while, and it has held up to the workload. I used it last winter almost daily. I've taken it to races and let teammates use it too. It's easy getting the bike in and out of the trainer. It's very stable on a variety of surfaces. The resistance has a pretty good feel. Great value.
